Day
1-
Arrive in Lima-After Immigration and Customs, a MILA representative
will meet you at the airport and provide a private transfer to your
hotel. Overnight
Day
2- Lima-Visit a private museum [textile & ceramic],
the catacombs in the San Francisco Church, Colonial Lima, and have
lunch at a typical Peruvian restaurant. Afternoon free or optional
activities.
Day
3- Cuzco- A 60 minute morning flight to the Capital of
the Inca Empire. Met at airport and transfer to your hotel. Cuzcois
at about 11,000 feet above sea level. Please REST for at least
2 hours to become acclimated to this altitude. Light lunch
is recommended and limited alcohol or cigarettes. Free afternoon
to wander in the Inca streets of Cuzco.
Day
4-5- Machu Picchu/Cuzco- The train departs at 6AM! A
3 1⁄2 hour ride through the Sacred Valley will give you the
opportunity to watch native people going to work, kids going to
school, farmers at work, admire the majestic Andes, and travel into
the rich history of pre-Hispanic Peru. Your guide will highlight
the various points of interest en route and in Machu Picchu. The
guide will be with you until 2PM. You may overnight at a hotel
overlooking Machu Picchu or in the town of Aguas Calientes near
the train station. Your train returns to Cuzcoat 2PM, until
then the citadel is all yours. Time for photography, walk part
of the Inca Trail, climb Huayna Picchu, or just sit, relax, and
meditate in the most spiritual sanctuary in the Andes. Be alert
to admire the sun rise. Return to Cuzcoon the 3 PM train.
Day
6- CUZCO on your own- This is an ideal time to visit stores,
get quality souvenirs, enjoy the streets of Cuzco, visit artisans,
museums, or places you select. Optional tours available.
Day
7- Return to LIMA
Enjoy an extended
stay, or continue to your next adventure / cultural / educational
destination with MILA Tours[Peru? Ecuador/Galapagos?Argentina?]
or private transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
The land portion
for the suggested itinerary starts at US $180.00 per day per person.
