Met by our local representative and transfer to the HOTEL GRANO DE ORO located near downtown and walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Overnight. Day 2- Full day of white water rafting on the Pacuare River. Return to San Jose. Overnight. Day 3- Pick up a rental car (Mid-size 4 door, 5 passenger car with air conditioning and automatic transmission). Drive to Monteverde (4 hours from San Jose). Check in at the HOTEL MONTANAMONTE VERDE. The hotel also has a restaurant and very nice gardens and trails. Overnight. Day 4- Day at leisure. Overnight. Day 5- Drive to San Carlos near the Arenal Volcano (3-4 hours from Monteverde). Check in at the HOTEL EL TUCANO near San Carlos. The hotel has a swimming pool, restaurant, tennis court, Jacuzzi with hot spring water, sauna, and spa. Day 6- Day at leisure. Suggested to visit the Cano Negro Wildlife Preserve or the Tabacon Natural Hot Springs or the Arenal Volcano area. Overnight. Day 7- Drive back to San Jose in the afternoon (2-3 hours from San Carlos). Drop off the rental car and overnight at the HOTEL GRANO DE ORO. Day 8- Pick up and transfer to the airport for departure. Enjoy an extended stay, or continue to your next adventure / cultural / educational destination with MILA Tours [Guatemala? Ecuador/Galapagos? Honduras?] or private transfer to the airport for your flight back home. The land portion for the suggested itinerary starts at US $180.00 per day per person.
