Day
1- Arrive in Sao Paulo. Transfer to hotel. Tour
Instituto Batanta, an 1888 farmhouse and the world center for the
processing of serum from the venom of spiders, snakes, and scorpions.
Day
2- Guided city tour of Italo-Portuguese quarter, Japanese
neighborhood of Liberdade, Praca de Republica, baroque Church of
San Francisco, personalized tours of Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, and
tea or coffee at the top of Edificio Italia.
Day
3- Check out and transfer to the airport for your
flight to Salvador. Private transfer to hotel. Salvador
is the most African of the Brazilian cities. Time to explore
the surroundings. Transfer to Pelourinho: tour the historical
town. Evening Afro-Bahian show followed by dinner at the Senas
Restaurant. Pelourinho is the center of the most representative
Brazilian colonial architecture.
Day
4- Early tour of Upper and Lower City. Start at Praca da
Se and Terreiro de Jesus, home of the 18th Century baroque Church
of St. Francis. Next, a visit to the Afro-Brasileiro Museum.. Continue
to the harbor’s Mercado Modelo, then onto the church of Nosso
Senhordo Bonfim.
Day
5- By 10 AM we will visit the Museu Carlos Costa Pinto,
a private college of art. Next, visit the Museu de Arte Moderna
de Bahia. The host building used to be part of a sugar mill/residential
complex.
Day
6- Enjoy the beach and preservation center for sea turtles
of Estrada doCoco. Time to visits the shops. Return to
hotel.
